Article: Tips for Thrift Store Shopping

November 19, 2008 by Bryan

Ho hum. Another boring “article” that took in excess of 8 hours to write. I must be a glutton for some kinda punishment - sometimes I feel like I’m still in college writing term papers.

Anyhow, you’ve probably heard about the new interest in thrift stores that has come about because the way the eeekconomy is tanking right now. So, I put together an article with some tips on thrifting in case you haven’t really visited them before. And before everyone complains - NO this is not a list of all the thrift stores in your area… those things are pretty useless and outdated as far as I’m concerned.

I don’t think that was “boring” at all, and I don’t even live in a place where I could take your advice (few/no thrift stores in Tokyo). The hand wipe advice is good for shopping anywhere. Sales clerks putting things on racks or shelves, tidying them, and then customers sifting through them in any store means they’re handled all the time. It’s a good idea to wash our hands after any shopping trip. It’s always the first thing I do when I come home from being out anywhere, and I make sure never to touch any part of my face until I do. This cuts way back on the number of colds I catch!
