Cheaplander on Holiday Break

December 19, 2008 by Bryan

Hi Christmas Crazies. Sorries, no review roundup today. I just wanted to let you know that we’re going to be taking a little holiday break over here at Cheaplander HQ. A mini vacation is in the works, plus I need the time to rest up my shoulder/back injury. And drink quarts of spiked eggnog. I’ll check in every so often, but new posts won’t resume until around January 5 or so. Well, you never know - we might get bored sitting here in this no-Snow zone that is Los Angeles…

Happy Holidays!

[Editor’s Note: Actually, I also need the break to try install Win XP in Bootcamp on the iMac. Apparently, you can’t use an XP disk straight up - you need to slipstream Service Pack 2 updates into it and reburn as an image on a single disk. So far, that’s not working - ugh. I wish Apple would have made it easier - can’t we all get along?]

I didn’t know that about XP. The only Mac we have which is new enough for an Intel processor is a MacBook (not a Pro) that my husband uses and it runs Vista so I never had to wrestle with installing XP. We got Vista for free or I probably would have chosen to use XP. Good luck with your installation!
