I just had a fortuitous Dr. Pepper last night.
We were at In-N-Out, filling up the drinks, when my normally non-lucid Friday night brain was struck from above by a remembrance lightning bolt of Chinese Democracy of the Guns and Roses variety.
I’d completely forgotten about the free soda extravaganza that was set to occur this weekend, and luckily filling up the soda at the fountain jogged my memory. The lowdown: back in March, Dr. Pepper had said jokingly said they would give every person in America a can of soda if Guns N’ Roses released their long awaited and continually delayed album, Chinese Democracy, this year.
Well, it turned out that Axl and friends took ‘em up at their word. The album will be released Nov. 23 - and Dr. Pepper is keeping their end of the bargain by offering the free soda. You have to visit their website tomorrow and register (of course) to get a free coupon for a 20 ounce Dr. Pepper. The thing is that the coupon is only available for one day. Once you get the coupon, however, you have until February 28, 2009 to use it.
I’m not sure how it’s gonna work - their website doesn’t seem to have any sort of notification about the free soda right now. I know one thing for sure - I don’t really like Guns and Roses, but I sure like Dr. Pepper. I’m looking forward to my free soda.
